Road construction on southbound I-25 caused long traffic delays during the Tuesday morning commute

DENVER - Road crews worked on southbound Interstate 25 until about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, causing major traffic delays during the morning commute.

At 6:15 a.m., 7NEWS Traffic Anchor Jayson Luber tweeted a look at the backups.

At 6:45 a.m. Luber reported that the crews had finished picking up the cones and lanes had re-opened.

"Plenty of free parking on SB 25 from 120th to to downtown," Luber reported at 6:45 a.m.

However, another problem popped up moments later.

At 7:45 Luber said traffic was beginning to pick up speed.

Luber said he expected the commute to continue to improve quickly, barring any new incidents.
