DENVER - The driver who admitted to his role in a fatal hit-and-run has one final weekend before he begins his prison sentence.
Nathan Beechley pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide in the death of 35-year-old Jonathan Lewis around 2 a.m. on April 9, 2013. After the crash at 9th and Colorado, Beechley's 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, was found in an apartment complex 15 miles away in Aurora, near Hampden Avenue and Tower Road.
Friday, he was sentenced to serve four years in prison for the case, announced Denver District Attorney spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough.
Beechley has been out of custody on bond during the legal process and the court granted a stay of execution on the sentence until Monday.
