DENVER – We love our pets and we often declare that love in our social media posts. TrustedHousitters.comcompiled that data to reveal what type of pets Coloradans love the most.
Here are Colorado’s favorite pets based on our social conversations:
Dogs
America’s favorite pet is also Colorado’s. What’s our favorite breed of dog? TrustedHousitters says more than 13 percent of social media conversations were about huskies.
Cats
These cute, furry creatures have been accused of taking over the internet, but there’s no doubt they have taken over our hearts. Most cat conversations were about Persians.
Small animals
Out of this group, which includes animals like hamsters and gerbils, ferrets appear to be our favorite. More than 37 percent of social conversations were about long and slender animals. TrustedHousitters also noted that we are twice as likely to talk about ferrets than golden retrievers.
Reptiles
These cold-blooded vertebrates have apparently warmed up to us with the majority of our conversations in this group centered around lizards.
Birds
Birds are extremely intelligent and are good choice for those living in an apartment. More than 82 percent of all other pet conversations were about birds.
