LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. - The Hell Canyon Fire in Larimer County was 50 percent contained on Thursday afternoon, fire officials said.
Officials said smoke in the area is from the interior of the fire, which has had no real growth.
A helicopter arrived earlier in the day to help firefighters battld the blaze.
The Hell Canyon Fire was sparked Wednesday by lightning.
It's burned about 4 acres between Lyons and Estes Park.
There were 15 firefighters on scene Thursday morning, according to the Canyon Lakes Ranger District. They said a 20-person crew was expected later Thursday to help build a line around the fire.
A second fire, the Pole Hill Fire, was also started by lightning on Wednesday afternoon. It was declared contained Thursday morning.
