LAKEWOOD, Colo. - HazMat crews with the West Metro Fire Department and officials with Homeland Security investigated a suspicious package Thursday that was delivered to a Social Security office in Lakewood.
The package was discovered before 2 p.m. at the office at 13151 W. Alameda Pkwy.
Authorities said there was suspicion about the package once it was opened, but it has since been deemed safe
Three people inside the building were decontaminated during the quarantine.
The situation was considered a low public health threat and no other buildings were evacuated, official said.
