FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The 20-year-old runner who collapsed near the finish line of Sunday's Boulder Spring Half Marathon and later died was a Colorado State University student majoring in health and exercise.
Jessica Dillon, of Castle Rock, died after collapsing on the 13.1-mile course.
The results of an autopsy are pending while toxicology and other tests are completed and that could take several weeks.
According to the Boulder Daily Camera (http://tinyurl.com/kdruc3p ), race director Jeff Mason said he did not know whether Sunday marked Dillon's first time running the race.
It was the first death in the history of the Boulder Marathon.
