GUNNISON, Colo. - Investigators allege that a Gunnison woman indicted in the death of her infant rolled over and smothered him as they slept together.
Thirty-nine-year-old Corrina Denham faces charges of criminally negligent homicide and fatal child abuse in the 5-month-old's death last May.
The Montrose Daily Press reported Thursday that the April 11 indictment indicates Denham was drunk when she went to sleep with Jacob after a "girl's night" party at her house. The document states that she heard the baby cry out and that he then became unresponsive and stopped breathing.
Authorities allege Denham didn't act reasonably and blame her intoxication for contributing to the baby's death.
Denham turned herself in on Tuesday and is out on bond. She has no listed telephone number.
