Gun discharges at Colorado Springs gun show

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - No one was injured when a gun accidentally fired during the Colorado Springs Gun show Saturday.

According to police, the shooting was reported at 8:29 a.m. at the Expo Center at 3650 N. Nevada Ave.

Police said a vendor was setting up his products when the shot was accidentally fired into the floor.

"The round shattered upon impact, resulting in no damage and no injuries," the police blotter stated.

The vendor said the weapon was test fired earlier in the week and had been returned as defective. After the test, the magazine was removed but the vendor forgot to empty the chamber of the weapon.  The vendor told police that the shot went off when the back of the gun was bumped.

The vendor was charged with prohibited use of a weapon and was asked to leave the property by event organizers.
