GREELEY, Colo. - A Greeley man faces first-degree murder charges after showing up at the police station and confessing.
According to police, Juan Velasquez-Trinidad, 51, showed up at the front desk of the police department at 12:25 p.m. Friday and admitted that he had just stabbed his wife.
Officers were sent to his residence at 807 31st Ave., and found 47-year-old Martha Velasquez with severe stab wounds to her chest. She was transported to North Colorado Medical Center and died at 2:43 p.m., as a result of her injuries.
Greeley police said they are continuing to investigate the incident and what led to the stabbing.
