DENVER - A Greeley bus driver was attacked Saturday after he tried to defend a female passenger from a man who was harassing her.
The driver told police he was attacked after he told the suspect to stop bothering a female passenger on the bus.
Rojorio Naranjo, 57, now faces felony and misdemeanor charges after police said he punched, kicked and shoved the 55-year-old driver.
According to police, Naranjo threw the driver down the stairs of the bus and out the door. Naranjo then kicked the driver repeatedly in the head, police said.
Eventually Naranjo stopped and ran away, but the driver followed him until police caught Naranjo, police said.
A police investigator reported Naranjo smelled like alcohol at the time of the incident.
The Greeley Tribune reported Naranjo is a registered sex offender and had been banned from using alcohol or controlled substances.
He is being held on a $20,000 bond. Charges will be filed on Wednesday.
