Golden man accused of firing shots into his yard after someone rang his doorbell twice and took off

GOLDEN, Colo. - A Golden man is accused of firing two shots outside his house to scare off doorbell ditchers early Sunday morning.

Ture Hoefner, 46, told police someone rang his doorbell twice and ran off, so he fired two rounds from a revolver into the ground in his front yard.

Several people reported hearing shots fired outside 17132 W. 16th Ave. just after midnight on Mar. 17.

Golden police officers seized the gun and issued Hoefner a summons for reckless endangerment, unlawful use of a firearm, and unlawfully discharging a firearm.
