Supporters of a man accused of stabbing a fellow University of Colorado student to death say the crowdfunding website GoFundMe is biased because it shut down a campaign for the defendant's bail money and legal fees.

The Daily Camera reports Ian Scheuermann's family raised more than $4,000 before their account was closed.

The removal is consistent with company policy.

Police say Scheuermann told them he was defending himself.

Investigators say Sean Hudson was stabbed multiple times early Saturday morning.

Officers were called to the area of Broadway and Walnut Streets around 2:07 a.m. after an argument escalated into violence, according to a press release from the Boulder Police Department.

Hudson's family says he earned a master's degree in psychology earlier this year and was working on a PhD.
