Weld County authorities say they have tracked down the mother of a young girl whose cremated remains were found in an urn along a Longmont road.

The sheriff's office says in a release the mother lost the ashes while she and her family had been moving to California, according to the Longmont Times-Call

The urn was found by an oil and gas worker March 3. It contained the ashes of Jamesha Janaya Swain, who died in 1997. The certificate on the urn doesn't provide the girl's age but calls her "Baby Girl Miscey."

Authorities say they had received several tips after the discovery of the urn was made public. After following leads as far as Georgia, a deputy eventually located a phone number that led to the girl's mother.
