CASTLE ROCK, Colo. – Ten homes were evacuated near Butterfield Crossing Drive and Sungold Lane Monday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. because of a gas line break.
Castle Rock Fire and Rescue says that people in the area and others nearby may smell gas, but advises anyone who has not been told to evacuate that they don’t have to.
Black Hills Energy is working to repair the line, though Castle Rock says it could be two hours before the line is fixed.
Sungold Lane is closed at Butterfield Crossing and Aster Court. Blazingstar Trail is being used as an alternate route.
