Garcia's Restaurant auctions memorabilia

A long-time Denver restaurant has closed its doors and is auctioning its memorabilia, collectibles, furniture and commercial kitchen items.

Garcia's Restaurant on South Syracuse Street will open again on Tuesday and Wednesday for the sale.

On Tuesday, they'll auction the front-of-house items including the furniture and decor. On Wednesday, they'll auction the kitchen equipment and other larger commercial items.

Claudia Hudson, with Surplus Asset Management Auctionssaid the owners of Garcia's will be at the restaurant for the auction and are planning one last fiesta with food and drinks for the bidders.

Nearly 500 items are being auctioned Tuesday at 5 p.m. online, over the phone and in person.

Hudson said some of the unique items include lot no. 63, which is several mariachi statues. Each one stands about five foot tall.

Bidders can buy furniture items like a carved wooden chair.
