AURORA, Colo. - Funeral services were held Tuesday for the youngest victim of the Aurora movie theater shooting.
Veronica Moser Sullivan, 6, had gone to see the Batman movie with her mother, Ashley Moser, 25, when shots rang out in their theater.
Veronica died from her injuries. Ashley was left in critical condition, with gunshot wounds to her neck and abdomen. She is paralyzed below the waist.
"(Veronica was) a vibrant little girl," said her aunt, Annie Dalton.
The 6-year-old has just learned to swim and ride her bike. And, like most kids her age, was ready for another year of school.
"She was telling me how she's going to show me her first report card. She was just so excited about going to school," said Ana Moser, Veronica's grandmother in July.
"Some may say she lived six short years," said Veronica's father Ian Sullivan said in August. "I'd say they were the longest years of my life and I cherish every minute."
"She was the most fun loving 6-year-old I ever met," he added.
Services for Veronica were held at the Church of the Risen Christ in Denver. The governor ordered flags be flown at half staff on Tuesday in honor of Veronica.
