FIRESTONE, Colo. — Months after a home explosion in Firestone, Colorado, families are still rebuilding and learning how to cope with the loss of loved ones.
The families of Mark Martinez and Joey Irwin, who were both killed in the home explosion by an uncapped gas line near the family home, will benefit from a large fundraiser organized to help the families get back on their feet.
The Firestone and Frederick communities have organized a benefit for Saturday, both hoping to raise money for the two families and remember the two lives that were lost.
The benefit will include a golf tournament, car show, silent auction and spaghetti dinner.
