Fugitive Jamie Salazar caught 23 days after walking away from a community corrections facility

PUEBLO, Colo. - A fugitive wanted for walking away from a community corrections facility in Pueblo was caught after 23 days on the run.
Jamie L. Salazar walked away from the facility on April 1, according to the Colorado Department of Corrections. He was given an eight-year sentence out of El Paso County for second-degree assault and became parole eligible on June 25, 2012.
He was taken into custody without incident by parole officers on April 24.
The DOC reports Salazar is also wanted for the assault and kidnapping of a woman in Pueblo.
