Friends are identifying the victim of a deadly bar shooting as Denver rapper Kevie Durham, known as KL Tha General.
The shooting happened at a bar called The Beach on North Federal Boulevard and West Colfax Avenue near Sports Authority Field at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday.
Denver Police said there were "multiple" other victims with non-life threatening injuries. As of Sunday night, there had been no arrests.
Durham's Facebook page was flooded with condolences from friends and fans.
A friend and music producer, who goes by Russ P., said he never knew Durham to be violent.
"This isn’t just another story of a rapper running around doing crazy stuff and ending up getting shot in the streets," Russ said. "This is different. He was a good dude, that’s all I can say. And he had a lot to offer , not only the local community as an artist, but the world."
Russ said he was just recording with Durham last week and they planned to go to Atlanta to meet up with music industry contacts.
"He had a lot of talent," Russ said. "It was just the beginning for this guy."
A Facebook post indicates that Durham was performing at the Beach before the shooting.
Russ said friends in the music industry are planning a benefit for Durham's family at Over There Off Hampden Bar and Grille on Tuesday.
