Free pet adoptions at 4 Colorado animal shelters Friday

DENVER – Looking for a new pet? Four Colorado shelters will be offering free adoptions Friday.

North Shore Animal League America and Zappos.com are teaming up to cover adoption fees for cats and dogs as part of their “Friends on Us Fridays” initiative. The organizations are holding free adoption events in cities around the country every Friday through November 17.

The following Colorado shelters are taking part in this week’s event:

National Mill Dog Rescue
5335 J D Johnson Road, Peyton
12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Humane Society of the South Platte Valley
2129 W. Chenango Ave., Littleton
11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Wild Blue Animal Rescue & Sanctuary
5975 Burgess Rd., Colorado Springs
10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Wild Blue Animal Rescue & Sanctuary at Petco
9690 Prominent Pl., Colorado Springs
12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
