DENVER – Good morning! Here’s what you need to know today, Monday, Sept. 4.
1. Today is Labor Day
Monday is Labor Day, so government offices, post offices, banks and many other businesses will be closed. Expect light traffic on area roadways but law enforcement will be out patrolling for the holiday weekend.
2. Free dental care today
Dentists and staff at all five Denver-area Risas Dental and Braces locations will be working from 8 a.m. to noon and offering free dental care. Click here for more information.
3. Olive Garden free for first responders
Olive Garden is continuing its Labor Day tradition of providing free lunch to first responders at all of its 800 locations nationwide. This is the 16th year of the special event.
4. A Taste of Colorado wraps up
Today is the final day of A Taste of Colorado. The free festival runs from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Civic Center Park in Denver.
5. Hot and hazy for Labor Day
Smoke from fires burning in Montana and along the West Coast are making for some hazy skies across Colorado. A cold front will start to push into Colorado today, bringing a slight chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. We'll see upper 80s to near 90 degrees.
