Fort Collins Police: Officer shot armed, suicidal Colorado State University student

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Fort Collins Police now say a man shot by an officer on Friday was a Colorado State University student.

Officers initially said they were called to 3501 S. Stover Street on a report of a suicidal man.

When they arrived, officers said a man with a gun confronted them.

Shots were fired and Jordan Koehn was hit. He was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies.

Monday, Fort Collins police said Koehn, 24, is a CSU student.

Investigators said that when they arrived Friday evening, Koehn grabbed a gun, pointed it at himself, then officers.

One officer fired four shots at Koehn, striking Koehn four times, police said.

Koehn underwent surgery.  He remains hospitalized at this time, police said.

The officer involved in the shooting is on paid administrative leave, which is Fort Collins Police Services policy.
