Fort Collins police fire tear gas to break up massive block party at CSU

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Fort Collins police fired tear gas into a crowd after a large block party with Colorado State University students apparently got out of hand Saturday night.

Several hundred students can be seen partying on the street, on cars and even on roofs in pictures posted on social media sites.

The party, advertised on a Facebook  group page, was centered at  Prospect Road and Westbridge Drive, a few blocks from the CSU campus.

Police officers had been in the area monitoring the party, but around 10:30 p.m. officers threw the cans of gas, causing students to disperse and head back to their apartments. Some students say rubber bullets were also fired at them.

It's not clear if any students were hurt or arrested.
