COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A soldier from Fort Carson is being disciplined for wearing their uniform to a rally for Paul Ryan in Colorado Springs last month.
"Army officials have investigated the report of a possible Fort Carson active duty Soldier appearing in uniform at a local political event on Sept. 26," said Fort Carson spokeswoman Meghan Williams. "The investigation determined that a Soldier did in fact violate DoD Directive 1433.10, which addresses military personnel participating in political activities, by taking part in a partisan political convention/meeting/rally while in uniform."
The Soldier is undergoing disciplinary proceedings at this time, Williams said.
Ryan was in Colorado Springs on September 26 for a victory rally at America the Beautiful Park. Ryan also visited Colorado Springs on September 6.
