Fort Carson soldier's vehicle stolen while he's deployed overseas

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Nearly two weeks after a deployed soldier's vehicle was stolen, Colorado Springs Police officers found the SUV and the suspected thief while investigating another crime.

Officers were called out early Wednesday morning to a possible burglary of the coin machines at a car wash on Templeton Gap Road.

When officers arrived, they said they found 41-year-old Lawrence Arden with his wife and 18-year-old son in a White GMC Sierra truck with Alabama license plates. The same GMC truck stolen from a Fort Carson soldier currently serving overseas, police said.

As officers got ready to arrest Arden, he ran off.

Colorado Springs Police said two officers chased Arden, eventually using a TASER to stop him.

Arden was arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft and unrelated felony warrants, police said.
