Fort Carson soldier dies after being shot outside Colorado Springs nightclub

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Authorities have identified a man who died after being shot outside a Colorado Springs nightclub early Sunday as a 22-year-old Fort Carson soldier.

The El Paso County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Deangelo Brown.

Officers were called about 2:39 a.m. Sunday on a reported disturbance in front of the Circa Bar, located in the 500 block of South Tejon Street. Officers responding to the scene were advised by dispatchers that shots had been fired in the area.

Officers found Brown had been shot outside the bar. He was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

No one else was injured.

In response to the killing, Fort Carson has added Circa Bar to its list of "off-limits" establishments for post personnel, KRDO-TV reported.

Police asked anyone who has information about this case to call the Colorado Springs Police Department at 719-444-7000. Those who wish to remain anonymous can also call Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers, Inc. at 719-634-STOP (7867).  A reward is available for those who provide information leading to arrest and charging of anyone responsible for this crime.
