CENTENNIAL, Colo. - A former Mexican police officer wanted for a 14-year-old murder has been arrested in Centennial.
Jesus Gabriel Ibarra-Espinoza, 41, was arrested this week for aggravated homicide by officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations.
Prosecutors said Ibarra-Espinoza was working as a police officer for the City of Mocorito in January 2000 when he was assigned to a security detail at a local party.
A witness said Ibarra-Espinoza allegedly used his assigned AR-15 police rifle to shoot and kill a man.
Ibarra-Espinoza is currently in ICE custody facing deportation proceedings.
