BRIGHTON, Colo. - A former Adams County contract worker was sentenced Friday to one year probation for trading prescription drugs with other county employees.
Rose Lucero, 41, was convicted on July 16 of felony conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.
Lucero was a contract employee working for ACS, a Xerox company that provided information technology services to Adams County.
The original investigation began in March 2011. Five employees of the Human Services Department were fired after the internal investigation was launched into the accusations of drug sharing. The five entered a diversion program that allowed them to expunge the charges from their record if they avoid future misconduct. Lucero was the only one criminally charged.
