Flu in Colorado: 'elevated, but leveling off'

DENVER - Flu activity in Colorado is elevated but showing signs of leveling off, according to state officials.
Over the last two weeks, more than 148 people were reported hospitalized for influenza. There were two new outbreaks in Pueblo and Mesa counties.
"At this time, it appears that influenza-associated hospitalizations peaked the week ending 1/5/2013," state health officials reported.
So far, 937 people have been hospitalized for flu in Colorado this season. Five children have died.
During the 2011-2012 flu season, 543 people were hospitalized for influenza.
In 2010-2011, 1,027 people were hospitalized.
