Parts of Peoria and East 96th Avenue in Aurora remained closed early Wednesday morning, due to flooding.

The source of the water is a detention pond on the Rocky Mountain Arsenal which has overflowed with rain from recent storms.
East 96th Avenue is closed between Potomac and Peoria streets. Peoria Street is shut down between E. 96th Avenue and E. 104th Avenue. Some people risked driving through the water anyway.
The roadway condition will be re-evaluated on Wednesday morning.
