COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A flash flood watch has been issued for the Waldo Canyon burn zone in Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs.
By 6 a.m., light rain was already falling in the area.
Officials are concerned that heavy rain could wash dirt, rocks and other debris from the burned hillsides into nearby neighborhoods.
Many neighbors and businesses have lined their sidewalks and river banks with sand bags.
The Waldo Canyon Fire destroyed nearly 350 homes and scorched more than 18,000 acres. Two people died in the fire.
