There's no better time for a spring break trip than when a mid-March chill hits Denver.
Denver International Airport is urging everyone to arrive at least two hours early for Friday travel.
DIA officials said Friday morning that the FAA is implementing a traffic management program that will cause delays of 30 minutes, on average.
"It's snowing in Denver, which means you should probably be headed for the mountains today. But in case you aren't, the airport is open and things are moving pretty well this morning. We do expect to be busy, so please arrive early and plan ahead for the screening process," the airport wrote on its Facebook page.
The airport already warned that TSA wait times have increased because of spring break. The snowstorm will likely amplify that.
Travelers should check their flight status before heading to the airport.
Pena Boulevard, leading up to the airport, was temporarily closed near Jackson Gap to move a disabled vehicle. It has since reopened.
There haven't been any other notable traffic problems. A snow plow tipped over not far from the airport. No one was hurt.
