LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. - The Larimer County Sheriff's Office ordered evacuations in Poudre Canyon but then said residents could return to their homes.
At 6:45 p.m., the sheriff's office tweeted, "All residents on Falls Creek Drive need to evacuate due to flooding of the Poudre River. Residents need to leave West on Hwy 14, to Stove Prairie Rd down into Masonville, as there is a mudslide blocking Rist Canyon Rd as well. Please do not dial 911 unless you have an emergency."
A half-hour later, the sheriff's office tweeted this message: "All residents on Falls Creek Dr can return to their homes. Highway 14 has been re-opened as well."
The notices for Falls Creek Road were sent to 41 contacts, the sheriff's office said.
