Firefighters wake sleeping family, evacuate them from Lyons house fire

LYONS, Colo. - Firefighters woke and evacuated a family stuck in a house fire in Lyons early Saturday morning.

High flames were visible at the back of the house located at 4168 Ute Highway. Firefighters arrived at the house around 12:39 a.m. and immediately woke up the people inside of the home who were asleep. They were evacuated and suffered no injuries, said Boulder County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Deputy Jeff Pelletier.

The fire was extinguished and contained to the back deck of the home.

Lyons Fire Protection District is investigating the cause of the fire. No foul play is suspected at this time.

Emergency crews from Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Lyons Fire Protection District, Hygiene Fire Department, Pinewood Springs Fire Protection District, Lefthand Fire Protection District, American Medical Response and Longmont Emergency Unit responded to the scene.
