Firefighters seize 76 boxes of fireworks in Aurora

AURORA, Colo. - The Aurora Fire Department seized 76 boxes of illegal fireworks Monday.

The boxes were found at a home in Aurora after an anonymous tip, fire officials told 7NEWS.

A photo tweeted by the Aurora Fire Department showed the boxes stacked up in a truck.

Investigators issued a summons to one person, according to Captain Wendy Lippman.

"All fireworks are illegal in the City of Aurora," the Fire Department tweeted.

People caught with fireworks face fines ranging from $250 to $1,000.

Aurora Fire and Police will be patrolling and ticketing from Wednesday through Sunday, Lippman said.
