Lookout Mountain Fire controlled, evacuations lifted

GOLDEN, Colo. - A fire on Lookout Mountain prompted the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office to send out Level 1 evacuation notices before it was controlled.
The notices for the Beaver Brook Fire went out to 282 phones, according to sheriff's office. The notice area included the lower part of Krestview and Hess to Cody Park.
A Level 1 evacuation notice means to be prepared to evacuate.
At 5:30 p.m., the sheriff's office said the fire has been controlled and no additional fire units were needed.
Firefighters from Genesee, Foothills, Evergreen, Inter-Canyon fire departments were called in when it broke out to try and contain the small fire before it grew.
The fire was described as "small," with flames less than a foot high, but in a neighborhood with acreage homes in Cody Park.
