Fire burns warehouse on Vasquez and 48th in Denver

DENVER - A two-alarm fire damaged a warehouse on Vasquez Boulevard near 48th Avenue on Wednesday morning.

The fire at National Trailer Centers was first called in at 9:40 a.m.. By 9:50 a.m., firefighters said smoke and flames were coming through the roof.

The warehouse had a fire suppression system, according to Fire Chief Eric Tade.

Tade said the sprinklers went off, but it wasn't enough to put the fire out. Firefighters had to not only fight the roof fire, they also had to put out several vehicle fires inside the warehouse.

The fire was mostly contained to the vehicle bay areas, Tade said.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire.

There are no reports of injuries.
