Oil storage tank burns in Weld County

WELD COUNTY, Colo. - A fire burned an oil storage tank near Frederick in Weld County on Wednesday.

The fire started around 9 a.m.

Mountain View Fire Rescue reports that the fire was extinguished at 10:10 a.m.

The Weld County Sheriff's Office said the fire was near Eagle Boulevard and Godding Hollow Parkway. 7NEWS viewer Kathy Bonafede said the fire was just east of I-25 at exit 235.

Mountain View Fire Rescue tweeted that a tank was on fire. Mountain View officials said they had three units on scene fighting the fire, including a foam truck.  They were on scene with with Frederick Firestone Fire Protection District.

Several viewers sent photos to 7NEWS showing the smoke and flames.

"It's real windy up here and the fire started spreading," neighbor Patricia Harville told 7NEWS before the fire was extinguished.
