Woman and teen locked in bathroom during crime

PALMER LAKE, Colo. - A family in Palmer Lake awoke early Wednesday morning to three armed men who took electronics and marijuana plants.

The three burglars entered the home on Gillia St. in Palmer Lake through a window around 3:15 a.m., according to Palmer Lake Police Department spokesman Lt. Jason Vanderpool. Each was armed with a handgun.

A man who lives in the house woke up and confronted them. Vanderpool said the resident received minor injuries in the fight that followed.

The gunmen held the man in a bedroom while a woman and teenager were locked in a bathroom.

Vanderpool said the burglars took electronics and live marijuana plants. The burglars were each wearing black or gray sweatshirts and dark bandanas.
