GREELEY, Colo. - An Evans man was given a minimum of 16 years in prison for sexually assaulting a teenage girl, authorities said Friday.

Michael Leroy Kassel, 37, was arrested in December 2011 after three girls told police he had repeatedly touched them in a sexual manner, said Heath Montgomery  of the Weld County District Attorney's Office.

He was found guilty of one count of sex assault on a child and sex assault on a child as a pattern of abuse, Montgomery said.

Kassel's sentence was to a minimum of 16 years up to life in prison.
