Equestrian community comes together in honor of Claire Davis, victim shot at Arapahoe High School

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. - Millbrook Equestrian hosted a day of activities in honor of 17-year old Claire Davis, shot Dec. 13, at Arapahoe High School.

Many of the riders that participated in the event knew Claire, who was active in the horseback riding community. Trainer Jessica Roberts said they wanted to show their support for Claire.

"Our goal is really to get everybody together and laughing and having some fun. Something this tragic is going to take its toll on people," said Roberts.

Riders wearing '#Ride for Claire' t-shirts participated in races, held raffles and decorated horseshoes with prayers for Claire. By 11:15 a.m., only two hours after the event started, they had raised $4,818.62.

"We want to help and this is a way we can help," said Roberts. "Our biggest goals were just to raise as much money as we can and also to bring this community together."

All of the money raised will be given to the Davis Family. If you want to donate, you can go to any Wells Fargo location or donate online at www.denverfoundation.org.
