Englewood man arrested in child porn probe

Marvin Edy Wolf held without bond

DENVER - A 61-year-old Englewood man was ordered held without bond by a federal magistrate Tuesday in a child pornography investigation.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael E. Hegarty found that there was probable cause that Mervin Edy Wolf committed the two crimes as alleged in the federal government's criminal complaint.

Wolf is accused of traveling in interstate commerce with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor child under the age of 12.  If convicted, the charge carries a penalty of not less than 30 years, and up to life in federal prison.  Wolf is also accused of production of child pornography, which carries a penalty of not less than 15 years, and up to 30 years in federal prison.  Wolf also faces up to a $250,000 fine for each of the two counts.

The FBI and local law enforcement are continuing to investigate Wolf to determine whether there are other minor children with whom he has engaged in illegal sexual acts.  If you have any information about Mervin Wolf, or this case, please contact the Denver FBI at 303-629-7171.
