Cab of tanker catches fire after I-25 crash near Johnson's Corner in 50 vehicle pileup

JOHNSON'S CORNER, Colo. - The Colorado State Patrol is investigating multiple crashes on Interstate 25 near mile marker 253 (Johnson’s Corner), including a semi-tractor pulling a tanker that was engulfed in flames on Saturday morning.

As many as 50 vehicles, including at least four tractor-trailers, crashed or went off the interstate  in the area, which is heavily impacted by snow and weather.

Several parties were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.  No fatalities were reported.  The Red Cross assisted stranded motorists and on-scene personnel.

Poor weather and driving conditions are being considered as the main factors for the crashes.  The investigations are being conducted and details are not yet available.

YouTube video taken by  Jacob Griego,  of Loveland, showed the tanker wedged against several vehicles in the snow with flames coming from the engine. Watch the video here: http://youtu.be/lWTJBrPUJ4s
