ELIZABETH, Colo. - Elizabeth High School, Elizabeth Middle School, Frontier High School and Running Creek Elementary School have resumed normal operations.
The schools were placed on lockout this morning.
Elizabeth Police Chief Mike Phibbs told 7NEWS a man who lives near the schools was threatening to harm himself. When the man left his home, officials put the schools on lockout as a precaution.
At 1:55 p.m., messages were sent to parents informing them that the schools would be resuming normal operations and the officers and deputies would continue to search for the missing man.
During a lockout situation, Elizabeth Schools said the buildings are locked and perimeters are secured.
