DENVER – A woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after she crashed her minivan into a nail salon at high speed.

Investigators believe the woman was going 100 mph or faster when she plowed through an intersection and went off the road, crashing into Glamour A Nails at 14650 S. Federal Blvd. The vehicle entered the building through the front, went clear through and hit the back wall, then bounced back out through the front, investigators said.

It took Denver Fire crews about half an hour to rescue the driver from the van because they had to secure the badly-damaged building to make sure it wouldn’t collapse.

Investigators said the driver hit two other cars in the intersection before crashing into the building. Both cars sustained minor damage but one driver was taken to an area hospital. An update on their condition wasn’t immediately available.

It wasn’t clear what caused the woman to crash into the salon.

A nearby daycare, El Mundo Feliz, will be closed for the day because of the investigation.
