Driver in stolen car hospitalized after crash with suspected drunk driver in Denver Monday morning

DENVER - Police are investigating a crash involving a suspected drunk driver and a driver in a stolen car.

A blue Subaru collided with a black pickup truck at West 26th Avenue and Federal Boulevard a little after 3 a.m. Streets in the area were closed for the investigation, but expected to reopen at about 5 a.m.

The driver of the Subaru was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, according to the Denver Police Department.

The Subaru was reported stolen and the driver will face charges when he is released from the hospital, officials said.

A male passenger in the car was hospitalized in stable condition.

The man driving the pickup was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
