Driver hit CSU student on bike, stopped, then drove off, police said

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Fort Collins police are asking for the public's help to find the woman who hit a cyclist and stopped, but then drove off.

Witnesses told police that the cyclist and the driver of a white car were both traveling north on Shields Street near Birch last night, when the cyclist turned in front of the car and was hit.

Witnesses said the driver of the car stopped and got out of her car, but then she got back inside and drove off.

The cyclist, a 21-year-old CSU student was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police said he was not wearing a helmet.

The vehicle was described as a white sedan with black door handles. Police said it may have some minor damage.

Investigators created two sketches of the driver. She's described as a white woman, 25 and 30 years of age with straight long dark hair.  She was 5'6” to 5’7” tall and weighed 175 lbs. to 200 lbs.
