WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - Two-dozen people were forced from their apartments in Wheat Ridge Sunday morning when a two-alarm fire broke out in apartments on Harlan Street near 29th Avenue.

The fire was reported shortly before 11 a.m.

Firefighters said hoarding was to blame for the fire causing so much damage.  It made it hard for firefighters to get a handle on the blaze.

Two dozen units have smoke damage and two units were gutted, but everyone was able to escape safely.

One resident said he had just moved into his apartment on Saturday.
