DENVER -
Denver International Airport is number five on a list of 10 U.S. airports with the most weather delays, according to The Weather Channel.
The cable network used Bureau of Transportation Statistics info for the largest airports in the country.
"While Salt Lake City picks up more snow, and more days of snow each year, on average, snowstorms along Colorado's Front Range Urban Corridor are the stuff of legends," The Weather Channel reported.
About 41 percent of the delays at DIA were due to weather, such as snowstorms, tornadoes, hailstorms and thunderstorms .
The Weather Channel said San Francisco International was the worst airport for delays, due to low clouds and fog. Chicago-O'Hare came in second, followed by Newark-Liberty airport.
