Deputies searching for suspects in smash-and-grab burglary at Southwest Plaza JC Penney

LITTLETON, Colo. – Jefferson County deputies are searching for four suspects in a smash-and-grab burglary at a JC Penney store early Thursday.

Deputies said the suspects used a pickup truck to break through the doors of the store at the Southwest Plaza mall around 5:45 a.m.

A witness in the parking lot reported seeing four men get out of the truck and start loading it up with merchandise. It wasn’t clear what kind of merchandise the suspects took or how much.

The suspects then got back in the truck and took off, deputies said.

Lakewood police located the suspects' vehicle, a red Chevy pickup, near Sheridan and Yale but the suspects were nowhere to be found.

Anyone with information on this case should contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 303-277-0211.
